Abstract

The Sufi hagiographies contain various themes within their verbatim
ranging from the spiritual, ethical, social, political and economical milieu of that period. The Chishti Sufis of Subcontinent particularly employed this genre for transmission of knowledge in subcontinent. There are verities of themes found in the hagiographies of these Sufis. Apparently these compositions are predominantly of ethical and spiritual nature but a reader can find the eschatological and theological themes. This paper particularly focuses on eschatological matters particularly their views on the Barzakh. It helps the reader to understand the worldview of the Chishti Sufis.
